Managers Checklist
Getting Set up
- USA Hockey Registration
- SafeSport Training (full course or refresher as required)
- Background check (if required)
- Register as team manager to be added to the team managers group
- Accept invite to be set as team manager on the team page
- Request volunteers to help you with team activities (Treasurer to help with the team slush funds, Social Chair to plan team activities etc.)
Kicking off the season
- Coordinate with the coach to schedule a season kick off meeting (preferably as close to the 1st practice as possible). Coaches will communicate expectations for the season
- Request list of scheduling conflict dates for coaches and players (only school or major religious events)
- Establish slush funds and set up slush fund tracker
- Ensure all parents download the Crossbar app
- CSDHL & CUHL utilizes GameSheet for scoring and therefore you will not need score sheet labels for the season games. You may still require labels for practice and tournament games, so it is a good idea to have a few of them available
- Schedule a season kickoff party

- Season kickoff party
- Season tournaments (Fall, Wishbone & Winter tournaments). Add place holder events in crossbar so that families are aware of the dates
- Goodie bag for the players
- Holiday party
- Coaches gift (Holiday and End of season)
- End of season party
Preparing for Scheduling
Squirt, Peewee & Bantam levels:
- Work with the coaches to confirm the tournaments
- Send list of conflicts to the ice scheduler (include planned tournaments, school breaks etc.)
- Review Key Dates and Events section to factor in any scheduling requirements listed there
- Prepare the scheduling calendar including team and coaches conflict, major club event dates and home ice slots
- There will be 2 scheduling sessions. Declaration round which is usually 6-8 games followed by the season scheduling once the declaration round games are complete and the tiering along with the grids for the season are released.
- Set up sign up genius for your home slots to be released once the grids are available and scheduling starts for the session starts

The Director of Hockey Development will schedule the games
During the Season
- Assign home and away game responsibilities
- Clock (home only)
- Scoresheet (home only)
- Music (home only)
- Locker (home & away). Locker room assignments are posted on the screen for home games. Locker room for Away games are similar, but they sometimes require a driver’s license or set of car keys in exchange for the locker room key at a front desk. It is the mangers or designated locker room monitor's responsibility to ensure that it is clean and locked up
- Send out communication from the coaches as required
- Set up a signup genius for player feedback sessions
- Periodic updates on the status of the slush fund (preferable once a month)
Season wrapup
- CSDHL playoffs
- State tournament
- Northshore cup
- Schedule an end of season party
