Looking to get your player geared up to play hockey in the fall? Come try our Spring Mini-Mites Program! This is our entry level hockey program for our youngest players where they will work on skating, learn basic hockey skills, and have fun! This program will run once a week April-May. Our dedicated coaching staff will facilitate practices but we are always looking for parent coaches to help out!
Ages 4-6 and those older kids that may need a little extra help with skating.
Season runs April through May. While we strive to provide a consistent ice schedule, please know that the Sports Center also has other events that will impact the ice schedule each team skates that we do not have control over. As a general rule, here is when our teams and groups will be on the ice:
House (Mini-Mites-Squirts): Mondays 5:30
Northbrook Sports Center
Practices are once per week, typically on Mondays, for a total of 8 sessions.
Players will play intrasquad cross ice games.
Players will receive a Northbrook Bluehawks reversible jersey.
Shin pads, hockey pants, shoulder pads, elbow pads, athletic supporter with velcro to attach hockey socks, helmet, neck guard, hockey gloves, hockey skates, and a stick (wood with flat blade is perfect!)
Pure Hockey and Play it Again Sports are two great options to purchase equipment.
Each player is required to obtain an AAU membership before the start of the season. If your player had an AAU membership for the Fall Season, it is still good for the Spring Season. Please enter our club code W378CW when registering with AAU.
