Spring Development (SQ/PW/BTM)
The Northbrook Bluehawks are excited to announce our Spring 2026 Hockey Program, offering a blend of skill development and competition for all participants. This program is open to both travel and house players and is designed to enhance individual skills while providing players with an opportunity to apply those skills in competitive settings.
Players will be divided into age groups: Squirt (SQ), Peewee (PW), and Bantam (BT). Each level will have 14 ice touches throughout the program, ensuring players get ample time on the ice.
Weekly Sessions
Spring session will meet approximately 2x per week.
SKILLS / PRACTICE DAY
High-tempo, on-ice skills sessions focused on sharpening skating, shooting, edge work, puck control, and overall hockey IQ.
SCRIMMAGE DAY – COMPETITIVE 3v3
Fast, fun, and competitive 3v3 games featuring quick shifts, constant puck touches, and lots of creativity in a high-energy environment. We will also look to provide our players the opportunity to compete in 3v3 with other local area clubs such as Glenview and Falcons.
Tournaments
Tournaments will be a la carte. For players interested in participating in a spring tournament, we will ask for interest and form teams based on appropriate skill level.
Tournament Fee: Skater $200/Goalie $100
When
The season will run March 15 through May 21. There will be nothing scheduled during Spring Break, March 21 to March 29.
While we strive to provide a consistent ice schedule, please know that the Sports Center has other events that will impact our ice schedule throughout the spring season, primarily early May when there is limited ice availability due to the ice show. Ice times are primarily Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Ages
Please keep in mind that second year players in the fall will move up a level in the Spring. Birth years for spring as follows:
Squirt: 2016-2017
Peewee: 2014-2015
Bantam: 2012-2013
Body Contact/Checking Clinic
All 2013 birth year players are required to complete 2 hours of checking clinics. 2012 birth year players are strongly encouraged to attend as well. New this year, we are opening it up to 2nd year Peewees (2014) players as well.

Jerseys
Players will use their Fall Season practice jerseys. New players to the program will be given a jersey.
USA Hockey
All players require a USA Hockey number. If you did not have one for the Fall Season or just moved up to Squirt from Mite, please wait until after April 1st to obtain one.
