Message from Hockey Director Cody Murphy

Dear Bluehawks,

Thank you for a great 2022-23 season! It has been an honor and pleasure getting to know all of the families and players in our organization. One of the most rewarding parts of my season was to observe the growth of the players and the coaches through the progression of the year. The goal isn't just to win, it's to have fun and to develop on and off the ice. Our coaches led the way through example and our players responded accordingly, preparing them for the next challenges ahead. A big thank you to all coaches, managers, families, and players for committing themselves to our program and giving us all great memories to cherish. This is the type of season we can all build on for the future. We have a lot to look forward to, and it begins with this year's spring program.

I am a firm believer in "Separation is in the Preparation." As we approach the "off-season," this time of the year always presents an amazing opportunity for players to grow. Spring is not the same as Fall as everyone has their own schedules and plays other sports etc, but regardless, players and families have the opportunity to commit to getting better and improving their overall game through massive repetition. We will provide this service here with the Northbrook Bluehawks for those who accept the challenge. With our spring program, we have stepped up the tournament schedule to give our players something exciting to look forward to as they train hard every week. I encourage every player in our organization to sign up for our spring program to get in their reps. Being consistent in attendance and coming in and working hard will make a world of difference. I will leave you all with a video I used to keep in the back of my head when I preparing during the off-season as a player. What you do when no one is watching means the world of difference. We are excited to develop our players. YouTube Video
