Spring Midgets
The Northbrook Bluehawks are extremely excited to announce our Spring Midget Program! This program is new and designed to be flexible in accordance to other programs, while also continuing the development of our players. This program is open to all players regardless of location.
Ages
Midgets: 2008-2009
When
The season will run from March 5 through May 22. There will be nothing scheduled during Spring Break, March 23 to March 31. While we strive to provide a consistent ice schedule, please know that the Sports Center has other events that will impact our ice schedule throughout the spring season. As a general rule, here is when Midgets will be on the ice.
Mondays: 8:10 or 8:25pm at Northbrook Sports Center
Weekly Sessions
Skill development and fun will be the number one priority of our weekly skates. Each practice will have a healthy mix of high tempo flow/individual skill development drills, and fun scrimmages/small area games run by our elite staff. There will be a total of 10 on ice sessions.
- High tempo flow drills will include full ice drills, high pace skating with puck movement. The drills executed are drills used at the highest levels, that will require a high level of focus from the players.
- Individual skill work will be drills focused on fundamental hockey improvements in skating, stickhandling, puck control, and shooting.
- Small area games/scrimmages are an opportunity for our players to have fun and compete.
Goalies
The Northbrook Bluehawks are pleased to announce our continued partnership with Good as Gould Goalie School for the 2024 spring season. With over 30 years of experience, we are excited to have them on board and working with our goalies on a weekly basis.
*Dates of goalie instruction may not be on the same day of actual midget skate practices.
Tournaments
TBD. Tournaments will be a separate fee for those wishing to participate.
Jerseys
Players will receive a reversible jersey.
USA Hockey
All players require a USA Hockey number. If you did not have one for the Fall Season, please wait until after April 1st to obtain one.
