2010 BLUEHAWKS GIRLS’ HOUSE TEAM

PROGRAM  DESCRIPTION

This program is designed for girls who are currently playing Bluehawk Travel or House League hockey, but are not already rostered on a girls’ team.  We will be playing in the newly formed Girls’ Division of the North Shore Youth Hockey League (NSYHL).  This is the same league that our co-ed (boys’) teams are playing in.  It is anticipated that this will be “recreation” level hockey.

TIME COMMITMENT & EXPECTATIONS

Evaluations will take place in late September.  There will be a total of 10 practices and 10 games against other girls’ teams in the girl’s division of the NSYHL.  Ice times may be on the same day as NBHL house league games or practices. We also plan to participate in one local tournament with the other NSYHL girls’ teams at the end of the season in February.  Most away games will be very local.  A full schedule will be available mid-October.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRYOUTS

Eligibility is restricted to girls born in 1996 and later who are on a Bluehawk Travel or House League team and are not already rostered on a girls’ team.  See detailed Eligibility information attached.

Evaluation will take place:

   Saturday, October 2nd, 10:20am-11:20am,

If you are unable to attend the Parent Meeting on Sept. 12, PLEASE let Rich Blakey (rblakey30@sbcglobal.net) or Cheryl Thomas (cheryljohnson1@comcast.net) know of your interest before the meeting.  We will only be having this program if there is sufficient interest.

COST & QUESTIONS

Evaluation is no charge / All other fees due at first practice / Program cost is $ 450 which includes Tournament fee.

At the bottom of the page (now its on the top of the page!) I have added a calendar listing our next events.  Click on "View All" to get our calendar for the month.  (Make sure the "Girls Hockey" tag is selected.)  I will keep this calendar updated. 

There is also a function (iCal) that will automatically download the calendar to your Blackberry. Click on "iCal" at the bottom of the calendar and follow the directions.  Note that even if you do everything right, Vista sometimes takes 24 hours to synch up.

Eighteen of our Bluehawk girls scrimmaged with the Renegades on Friday, February 12th.  Judging by the smiles, the girls had a great time!
